Political Support

Iowa legislators passed the "Incubator Fund" legislatation in 2005 to support Iowa communities wanting to develop community health centers. Dubuque (CCHC) recieved a two-year $1.3M grant in Decemeber 2005. Dubuque was the first Iowa community to recieve this funding.
Congressman Nussle appropriated $300,000 for capital needs for Crescent Community Health in June 2006. Senator Harkin appropriated $3.8M to the Iowa Nebraska Primary Care Association to improve information technolgy structures for Iowa community health centers. CCHC will receive a portion of the Harkin funds.
